Thanks to the little angel who cast a landmine: 47997570;
A big thank you to everyone for your support, I will continue to work hard!
Cen Chen had not slept well for more than a month, and at this moment, he was sleeping soundly.
Ye Qiu, on the other hand, woke up early. Thanks to his biological clock, he was up by seven, washed up, and changed into his sportswear for a morning jog, wanting to maintain his good figure; daily exercise was essential.
After returning, he washed up again. The soup he had cooked before leaving was ready to drink. After showering, he had breakfast, and when he returned to his room, it was still pitch dark, with the outline of Cen Chen under the blanket rising and falling rhythmically.
Ye Qiu simply opened his computer and started working.
The development of Mirage had already gotten on track. Trying to carve out a decent slice of cake from a market that had already scaled up was no easy task, of course, unless you are Ye Qiu.
With a solid foundation, moving up a step required not just capital but also an accumulation of time. It wasn’t hard to share a piece of the cake, but what he wanted was never to nibble away bit by bit like a frog slowly boiled in warm water.
As long as he was given a fulcrum, he could overturn the entire market.
Ye Qiu: Proceed according to plan.
Han Zhi Ye: Received.
After waking up with a stretch, Cen Chen looked out the window and estimated it was already noon. He hadn’t slept so comfortably in a long time and buried his face in the orange-scented blanket.
Orange, orange scent? Half-buried, Cen Chen suddenly realized the strange environment around him and recalled that this was his newly-minted boyfriend’s home. His face flushed slightly; it was quite embarrassing to laze around on the first day at his boyfriend’s house.
“Awake?” Ye Qiu’s voice rang in his ears.
Cen Chen instinctively replied, looking at his dapper boyfriend, feeling a bit regretful; the morning perk was gone.
Ye Qiu put down his laptop and asked, “Are you going to eat?”
“You can cook?” Cen Chen was surprised.
Ye Qiu ruffled his hair and leaned down to give him a gentle kiss on the forehead. “Go wash up first; it’ll be ready soon.”
Cen Chen blinked, dazedly touching his forehead while grinning silly, feeling more radiant than a firework.
In the past, when he lived alone, he never had time to cook breakfast and would just drink coffee at work as a substitute meal. Today, finally, someone was there to prepare breakfast for him, or perhaps it was more appropriate to say “lunch.”
Cen Chen laughed happily while getting dressed, thinking that a forcibly established bond could be both beautiful and sweet.
He tidied his messy hair and walked out of the room, bumping into Zhao Yuan, who had also come out to look for food.
Cen Chen: Damn, I almost forgot about Old Zhao next door!
Seeing Zhao Yuan reminded him of how his boyfriend had looked last night, with that tempting demeanor that could make anyone’s heart race, making him feel resentful about how many times Old Zhao must have admired it.
Zhao Yuan: It’s so hard to wake up early and miss the time, why did I still run into them?
Zhao Yuan awkwardly greeted, “Morning?”
Cen Chen glanced at Zhao Yuan, who was neatly dressed, and then at his own pajamas. “Good afternoon.”
“Have you eaten?” Zhao Yuan, who was socially anxious, used the first tactic of small talk.
Without thinking, Cen Chen blurted out a countermeasure, “Not yet; want to grab a bite together?”
In the next moment, the two of them sat across from each other at the dining table, silent. Luckily, Ye Qiu quickly brought out the dishes.
The braised pork and scrambled eggs with tomatoes made by Ye Qiu, paired with a refreshing cold dish to offset the greasiness, plus the boiled meat slices Zhao Yuan had bought, made for a hearty meal.
Zhao Yuan watched the couple serve each other dishes while radiating love and felt like putting down his bowl and getting far away. Why was he put through such suffering? He should move out!
Cen Chen had similar thoughts; living next to such a cute person and hearing sweet nothings (not really) every day made him fear that he would lose his boyfriend. The early bird gets the worm was not just a saying; he was the one who invited the person out first to stand out, and he must eliminate all potential crises.
Although thoughts swirled in his mind, Cen Chen’s appetite was wide open. Seeing Ye Qiu looking at him while holding an empty bowl, he asked, “Want more?”
“Yes.”
“No need.”
What he wanted was the food, but Zhao Yuan awkwardly picked up his cup and sipped water.
Ye Qiu served him another half bowl of rice. Cen Chen was determined to finish everything in his bowl.
After eating and drinking enough and releasing a satisfied burp, Cen Chen took the tissue from his little boyfriend to wipe his mouth, feeling that life was thus, what more could he want?
Although his little boyfriend was younger than him, he was considerate in every way.
Ye Qiu, who was about to clean up, had his intentions interrupted by Cen Chen, who volunteered to wash dishes with Zhao Yuan. No way was he going to let Ye Qiu and Old Zhao be alone together!
Old Zhao was adorable, up earlier and eating less than him; of course, that made Cen Chen look lazy and gluttonous in comparison.
Since the moment to act was now, Zhao Yuan slipped away after finishing the dishes.
After the meal, both had work to attend to, and Ye Qiu drove him to the company.
Cen Chen couldn’t help but probe, “What do you think of Zhao Yuan?”
“What do you mean?” Ye Qiu pretended not to understand.
Cen Chen turned his head in silence.
Previously, work had been just a part of Cen Chen’s life, and he had never experienced the struggle others faced before going to the office. Overtime was a common occurrence, but today he finally understood that reluctant feeling of leaving.
Even after dragging things out, they arrived at the company, and Cen Chen sighed, “I guess I should go.”
“Yeah, work hard,” Ye Qiu replied.
Cen Chen unbuckled his seatbelt, not wanting to get out of the car. He looked at Ye Qiu, who seemed calm, feeling a bit unbalanced, and gritted his teeth, “You just want me to go to work, don’t you?”
A smile flickered in Ye Qiu’s eyes as he stayed silent, confirming Cen Chen’s thoughts even more.
“You don’t care about me!” As he thought more about it, Cen Chen simply pulled Ye Qiu by the collar and kissed him on the cheek.
